Hey everyone! It's almost Wednesday and I almost forgot to write my post for today! I decided to work my way to finishing Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 on my own since my fiancé isn't really into the game anymore. And lets just say I got a little annoyed with it. =P

Nothing has really happened this past week besides my fiancĂ© and deciding on the possible month of our wedding. October 2013. While this is exciting, and Lord knows I've been getting ideas from Pinterest and other websites, we still have to sit down and discuss the financial side of the planning with our parents. Like most folks, our families aren't rich. So planning this will certainly come down to a lot of DIY and creativity. But hey, that makes the ceremony and reception even more personal, memorable and fun!

I hope all is well with y'all and that I'll be able to read something from you soon!

I love Autosave

Hello everyone,
Have you guys ever tried to blog from a tablet? Well, it`s not that easy..because I`m currently attempting it and predictive text is becoming a lifesaver. Cherry flavored. But I am already thinking that this was a great investment, especially since I`m a Public Relations major and what not.
So, it`s almost the third week of school and so far things are going okay (knock on wood), I actually enjoy waking up on Mondays. How often is that said?
I sadly don`t have a lot to add today..and I know that`s been my general disposition lately, but being busy hasn't really let me allowed me to blog as much as I've wanted to, sadly.

Hopefully next time my update will be worth reading. I'm going to aim for it to be!

Have a great weekend everyone!

P.S. I almost lost this post, but the autosave feature on here saved me from a lot of panicking.

College Student with an Empty Semester

Hey guys! I almost forgot to post today!

Really, there's not much to report on. As a college student with an empty semester, my days are horribly boring. I plan on brushing up on some math during this free semester, as well as transferring to another school (yay!). So far, the only things that have filled my days have been drawing, reading and playing video games. Oh, and my fiance and I began watching Breaking Bad. And I am now totally obsessed with the show. *sigh*

With all this free time, my drawing has become a sort of obsession. I'm currently working on a Doctor Who fan art in honor of this week's season seven premiere (I AM SO EXCITED!). It looks pretty awesome so far!

I hope all of your semesters are great. Don't stress too much! Enjoy learning more! And for those of you not in school, I hope the rest of your year is just as great and stress-free! And to all of you: Don't forget to have fun no matter what you're doing!

See y'all next Tuesday!

Stormy Weather

Hey everyone! It's Tuesday again!

Lately, Las Vegas has been home to loads of storm clouds and rain. While I love rain, I wish it would travel east to all the central-American states that are in desperate need of precipitation. However, I can't say that I'm not enjoying the rain and clouds (despite the horrid amount of humidity). My Instagram is full of cloud photos (both storm clouds and white, puffy clouds) such as this one:

But I'm not complaining at all. It's nice to have some rain in the desert...

Other than the storm clouds moving in, I have an update regarding my fiance's job. He, officially, began working last week and is really enjoying it. I'm very proud of him! <3

I'm longing to push out of this terrible rut I've been in with regards to writing. My brainstorming is coming along nicely, but I always seem to hit a snag in certain areas of the story. Quite frustrating...

Well, that's all I feel like sharing today...
See ya next Tuesday!

Bandit and Teddy: The Ultimate Bromance

Hey everyone! It's Tuesday! And have I got a story for you.

We have two dogs... Teddy, who is about 5 or 6. He's an adorably timid, brown Border Collie. Next up is the overprotective, 4 year old Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd mix Bandit (I posted a picture of him during our photo week).

They're inseparable. Ever since we got Bandit, they've been buddies. It's basically a bromance. They fight like brothers. They take care of one another. It's cute.

So this morning, my mom was awoken by Bandit at 5am. He was freaking out, trying to get her attention about something. He led her to the back door and out into the backyard. Not understanding what he wanted her to see, my mom just stood out there for a while. He kept running over to the side of the yard toward one of our side gates. When she went over, she didn't see anything... All this time, Teddy isn't around. So Bandit leads my mom back into the house to the front door. Teddy normally sleeps against the front door on the rug, but he wasn't there. My mom opens the door to find nothing, but Bandit's still going nuts. He leads her back outside and to the gate. This time, she sees Teddy out in our driveway, begging to be let inside.

We have no clue how he got out, or how long he was out there, but Bandit saved the day, proving the seriousness of his bromance with Teddy. Teddy's fine, if you were wondering... he's acting like his normal self. Now I guess we're gonna have to figure out how he got out and fix that problem.

We're lucky that Bandit is as overprotective of his family as he is, otherwise he might not have known that Teddy was gone.

 Bandit and Teddy

Have a great week everyone!

My Mind Is Blank...

Hey all... Today is Tuesday, and I've got nothing. My mind is blank. I think it's okay to mention that I don't want to write about the Aurora shooting. We've discussed it in the comments on Craig's post, and I'm sure we've kept ourselves updated with all the constant coverage of the tragedy. In the end, I don't feel it's necessary to give this shooter the satisfaction of discussing it further.

But with this opinion comes an overwhelming lack of things to write about. My life is quite boring... Waiting for the building for the thrift store my mom and I are going to run to be built means no job to keep me occupied. I've decided to take the Fall semester off in order to evaluate my transfer options, which means no hours spent picking courses to take.  My writing is at a total standstill... *sigh* I wish I could come up with a creative way to motivate myself to write, but I don't have any ideas. Any of you got ideas? Have you been writing regularly, or am I not alone in my writer's block?

Along with the lack of eventfulness in my life, my fiance has been unable to get a phlebotomy job. No hospitals are hiring, and the company he externed with hasn't offered him a job (even though people are still asking to get appointments with him because he did such a good job and all the people he worked with want him to work there). If any of you could include my fiance's search for a job in your prayers, it'd be much appreciated. If you don't pray, send good vibes his way or something. :P I don't like seeing him discouraged, and he definitely deserves his dream job.

I really enjoyed seeing the music y'all listen to... It's interesting to see the differences and similarities between all of us when it comes to music genres.

Well, I don't think there's much else to say...

See ya next Tuesday!

A Tuesday of Music!

Hey everyone! It's Tuesday and we're discussing music, as I requested last week. Craig... your post was full of Doctor Who awesomeness, which was just so entertaining. Unfortunately, I don't have any such songs to post, but I appreciate the song about Captain Jack Harkness you posted. I recently began watching Torchwood mainly to see Captain Jack <3.

Well, now I suppose I should start discussing my favorite music. As a quick background, I grew up surrounded by all sorts of music and was taught to give all genres a try. My parents both were in band during high school, and my mom has been singing forever. I got a talent for singing from her, which comes with an appreciation for meaningful lyrics. So, most of the songs I'll post have lyrics that really mean something in some way.

First up... some country/folk that I've fallen in love with.

Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars is tragically beautiful in so many ways. It doesn't showcase their folk style as much as their other songs (My Father's Father, Barton Hallow, 20 Year etc.), but the lyrics to this song were remarkable. Joy Williams, the woman of the duo, expressed that this song speaks of the dichotomy of love... that love is dangerous and beautiful all at the same time.

Next up, I can't pick a favorite rock song, so I'm giving a band for y'all to look up because they're brilliant. Anberlin. I've seen them twice in concert and I've never been disappointed by their performances. They aren't my favorite band, but they have a sound that is easy to get addicted to. Impossible is a great song to listen to in order to get acquainted to the band... so, enjoy! Please note, the lyrics in some of their older songs are AMAZING (I just couldn't pick a song to post in order to give an example).

So, one of my favorite animated films when I was a kid was Anastasia. Yeah, I know it isn't accurate and that it isn't Disney, but it was a remarkable film. The song that plays during the credits has remained one of my favorite songs throughout the years... But it does bring on a little sadness because I used to watch this movie all the time over at my grandma's house, and I'd never let her turn the movie off until I got to listen to this song. She passed away when I was 7...

Ever since NBC's The Voice, I've become a bigger fan of Blake Shelton. At this point, he's like country music royalty... he can definitely say the wrong things at times, but he's awesome. And while I adore Honey Bee, I think I'll have to put Who Are You When I'm Not Looking up instead. It's such a beautiful song.

I hope I didn't post too many songs. There were tons of other ones I wanted to include, but I decided against them. Can't wait to see what the rest of you enjoy listening to!

See ya next Tuesday!

American culture?

Linnea brought up an interesting topic on Friday... Basically: Does America have its own culture?

After some thought, I've come to the conclusion that America never had its own culture due to the way it was founded. In the end, America was developed through many different countries with different languages, religions, cuisines and norms. These countries founded settlements in many separate regions, giving each section of America a distinct sub-culture that soon spread to every part of the country. Southern home-cooking can be found in every section of the country, not just the southern states. Lobster can be eaten in pretty much every state, despite its overall fame in Maine. Country music isn't just a backwoods, Appalachian tradition anymore, but a popular industry that has been able to meet all other genres with respect and great collaboration. Most larger cities have sections reflective of different areas of the world, featuring amazing nightlife and culinary opportunities. I'm sure we've all been to some form of "China Town" or been to supermarkets that cater specifically to a particular region's culinary delicacies.

America doesn't have its own culture, but embraces the cultures of the world, creating the melting pot we've all grown to love. But, with such a melting pot comes grievances and issues that are hard to resolve. World views are challenged and belittled. The "American" side of the equation isn't very tolerant... I guess most citizens have forgotten what led their founding fathers to the new world: intolerance, persecution and a longing for freedom. We need to learn to accept people of all cultures, including religion... Without doing this, our country will remain divided. And frankly, I like the melting pot we have. I like knowing that I can go to a restaurant and order foreign cuisine as well as southern country cooking. I like being able to hear all sorts of genres on the radio. I like knowing that every state has a particular background based on the country that settled in that territory centuries before. Without this, America wouldn't be America anymore.

Well, on that note, I hope everyone has a spectacular Fourth of July. Also, for those of you on vacations: have loads of fun!

Family Dinner, Birthday Cake, Gotye and Answers

Hey everyone!

So, Monday was my 21st Birthday. I didn't spend it partying or bar-hopping. I began my birthday at midnight reading A Storm of Swords and almost fell asleep in the bathtub. I went to Olive Garden with my mom and my fiance (my dad is working out-of-state and won't be back until Saturday) for dinner Monday night. Nothing really exciting there, apart from their amazing bread sticks and my fiance surprising me by ordering an awesome chocolate cake. (Oh, and that Strawberry Pomegranate Mojito...yum.)

The night before, my fiance and I went to his parents' house for the usual Sunday family dinner. He has four siblings (two sisters and two brothers), and it's always an interesting, often scary time over at the house. His older sister as a baby boy that just fell in love with the birthday hat they made me wear. His youngest brother is a fan of Sci Show (he obviously never forgets to be awesome!). His youngest sister is my age... and then there's his brother who is in high school. That boy repeatedly shout-sang these two lines from Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know":
  1. "But you didn't have to cut me off!"
  2. "Now you're just somebody that I used to know..."
He didn't know any of the chorus lyrics in between those lines, which are the first and last. It made for some interesting moments, and he often parodied those lines as well. So, I naturally mentioned Hank Green's brilliant Subway parody.

I wasn't expecting much of a birthday celebration from his family. Over the years, there had been so much drama between all of them and us. But, as I am helping his younger sister light all the candles on the ice cream cake, I see two gigantic gift bags out of the corner of my eye. Attached to my chair were a whole bunch of balloons and then the ice cream cake. I mean, I expected a cake, but all those gifts? It really made me feel welcome; it's the most comfortable I've felt around his family in the three years we've been together. When I opened the gifts, one of the cards hadn't been signed. They snatched it away and quickly passed it around to be signed by the whole family. When I got it back, I found money in the card! Gifts and money!? I think they may have gone overboard, a bit. Also in the card was the line, "Now you're just somebody that I used to know..." We all know where that came from. =P His oldest sister (whom I've had a hard time getting along with for many reasons) even gave me a card. I feel even more part of their family now, and I'm happy that I can finally say that.

Now on to Craig's question:  "What movies were your favorites as a kid that you probably shouldn't have been watching?"

This is a good question... When I was 8-9, I was obsessed with Titanic... So much so that I watched it multiple times a week (for the record, I was homeschooled, so I had all the time in the world to do that). But, I suppose that's not all that bad unless you bring up the nude scene... Other than that, the only movies I can think of are some random horror films (I went to see Saw with my mom when it first came out... I was 13), and then Grease and Grease II. It might seem weird to list those two films, but if you watch the videos below, you'll understand why I shouldn't have been singing along with these songs, let alone watching the films.
I think those are the only films I shouldn't have been watching when I was younger... not all that bad, really...  Or maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better. haha. Well, I can't wait to see what films all of you mention... Hopefully they won't be as awkward as mine.

See you next Tuesday,
DFTBA

What makes a true fan?

First off, I need to answer some previously posed questions...

I'd like to mention to the bloggers I'm writing with here that I enjoy critiquing stories, so if any of you would like me to critique or give feedback for a story/chapter you've written, I'd be happy to! So, that basically answers Linnea's question about sending one another our chapters or stories for editing/critique.

To answer the "what are you reading" question, I have to say that it's now quite difficult to answer. I am technically reading the 1,000 page World Without End by Ken Follett. I read his novel Pillars of the Earth a few years ago and loved it. This is Pillars' companion, set in the same priory town but two centuries later. I'm really enjoying, apart from the plot mimicking Pillars in almost every way. Which leads to the part that makes the question difficult to answer. After the epic finale of Game of Thrones (Yes, I mentioned GoT again), I realized that I really need to finish the third book in the series. I started it, but got terribly frustrated with one character's chapters, so I stopped. But with the hints dropped in the finale, I need to read it. So, my dilemma is: Finish World Without End, or start reading A Storm of Swords again...? *sigh*

Now on to the point of this post...

After seeing many fans posting rants about the differences in Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games television and film adaptations, it got me thinking: what makes a true fan? Obsessive fans spew their purist opinions about the screen adaptations and claim fans who liked them aren't true fans. They begin melodramatic rants about how fans shouldn't support the directors, screenwriters or showrunners because they are ruining the source material. Should these people be called true fans? Many GoT fans understand that George R. R. Martin trusts the showrunners of the HBO series with his baby, the novels. He knows they'll change things, but trusts that they'll make it work. Most Hunger Games fans understood why things were taken out or changed in the film to make everything work on screen, and even accepted strange casting decisions because of Suzanne Collins' support of those decisions.

As fans, shouldn't we trust the author of the books if they have faith in those working on the screen adaptations? Are these so-called "true fans" really true fans if they can't even trust the authors? I don't like being told that I'm less of a fan because I enjoyed a film/TV adaptation of a beloved book. I like them because I can view the two formats differently and understand that the written source is only limited by the imagination of the author, while the film or show is limited by budgets, special effects and time. If all fans can see the two formats in this way, fan communities would be a lot better to be a part of.

Well, that was the post for Tuesday! See y'all next week...

Thoughts from Out-of-State

Good morning!

I'm actually in North Carolina as I write this, which is kind of a big deal to me. I'm from Missouri, and I had never: a, been out of the Midwest; b, flown in a plane (or any other flying device); or c, seen the ocean. Right now, I've got a and b covered, and as of Friday (I'm writing this on Tuesday because I'm not sure I'll have internet access Thursday-Saturday), I will never be able to say any of those things again because all three will have happened. And it's awesome!

At the moment, we're at this little college in a beautiful little town, and I'm loving the atmosphere. It's a math-related week (for the first four days)... Sort of. I'm a math researcher for the summer, which I've already said; as I have also said, I am not a biologist. Today was an eight hour work day, and somewhere between six to six-and-a-half hours were spent discussing biology I do not have the tools to understand with very, very little discussion of math application. Worse than that, the biology professors heading everything up expect the mathematics students to read and give opinions on abstracts that even some of the biology students don't entirely understand. It's a bit frustrating. (I'm all about working and learning, but I am in no way qualified to explain or give any opinion on whether mating e. coli is the best way to pass on certain traits when we're talking about bio-engineering.) So... That's a bit stressful. I am very ready for the math. (Coming from the now-Friday self, we didn't actually do math, but we read a lot about math, which isn't particularly satisfying, but it was definitely more interesting for me.)

But as it is, I'm learning to tune-out all of the biology mumbo jumbo (as my math adviser has said he does on occasion), and I'm enjoying my time. Right now, I should probably out doing something a bit more productive, like reading or studying or doing math or memorizing world capitals... But instead, I'm blogging and sitting on Facebook... I lack motivation.

Aha! See what I did there? (XD) Craig's question this week was about motivating yourself to write, which is something with which every writer struggles at some point in his/her journey. I don't know that I have an answer. Sometimes, I just don't write (which is not the right answer at all). But my advice and usual means of fighting through it is to write anyway, even if you're not feeling it. Even if I'm writing utter crap, in the long run, it is more beneficial to get something down than to produce nothing. Change stories. (If you're like me, you've got a plethora of unfinished manuscripts you can jump into when you're stuck on the one you'd like to be writing.) If you know what you want to write, make yourself do it, even if it's not turning out the way you want it to. Then, rewrite and edit. If you don't know what you want to write, you have two choices. One: Lay in bed at night, just trying to get some story to play out; when it does, write it down. When it doesn't, give yourself a new scenario because the one you were trying to force them isn't meant to be (yet). At least, that's my method. Please note, it does not always work because, like I said, I am procrastinating right now.

To any of you guys (mainly Rachel, based on her post), do you want to commit to, like, a chapter every week or two weeks and send each other our drafts to proofread on whatever day we commit to? That way we get some writing and some editing done on a schedule.

Also, changing courses slightly, Rachel asked what we're all reading. I'm kind of skimming right now and putting off actually dedicating massive amounts of time to the books (more on the procrastination theme, it seems. Sad day), but I've got a few different things I'm going to be jumping between because some of them are things I can't just sit down and read. The first I just got today; it's a research book I'm going to be exploring: Complexity and Real Computation. I spent, like, forty-five minutes to an hour-and-a-half working on it, and I'm only halfway through the introduction because some of its density (Again, note from Friday: I don't think I'm going to spend my summer reading about math because I want to be doing math, so I think this is on hold). But it's good! The second is another educational-type reading, but of a different nature: Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal, or Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Spanish. I'm attempting to learn the language for a trip to Honduras I'm planning, so it's my means of practicing while immersing myself in a story I love. The third is a reread that I immensely enjoyed the first time: Howl's Moving Castle. If you've seen the movie, check out the book; it's better. If you haven't seen the movie, read the book first.

But... Yeah. It's a little after midnight so morning comes in six-and-a-half hours. I'm thinking bedtime. Good night everyone. Have a happy weekend, and Craig, I will read you on Monday.

Sun Burnt Ramblings

Hello everyone!

I hope those who celebrated the Memorial Day weekend had fun and did not get as sun burnt as I did. My fiance's father decided he wanted to take a random trip to our neighboring state, California, to spend the day at the beach. The trip was filled with Indian food, "that's what she said" jokes, a French woman not knowing that it's inappropriate to go topless on Cali beaches, sand and terrible hotel beds.  But since my fiance's family is full of tan people, only me and my fiance's brother-in-law got painful red burns. Today, my ankles are swollen from the massive burn, and it's horribly uncomfortable to walk... well, it's uncomfortable to do anything at this point.

Anyways, today will be written in parts. Part one was up there... an introduction and explanation of my Memorial Day trip (which was fun, until the burn set in).

Part Two: Blackwater FTW!
As soon as I got home last night, I watched episode 9 of Game of Thrones, "Blackwater." This was the most anticipated episode of the whole season for two reasons: 1) George R. R. Martin wrote it himself and 2) All of their budget pretty much went into it (epic battle episodes = lots of money). Did it live up to the hype? YES!

The part everyone was waiting for was the wildfire, and it exceeded my expectations in every regard. And, the flames were green like they were in the book, which was a plus. The dialogue exchanges were pretty much straight from the book... not so surprising since the author wrote the episode, but still. It was great to see recognizable dialogue and scenes from the book. And lets just say the the characters who stole the show were Sansa, Tyrion and The Hound! It was fantastic to see The Hound kicking ass and being the character I loved from the books. So really, this was definitely the best episode of the season, even if lots of characters were left out in order to focus on the happenings in King's Landing. But all of that will be settled in the finale on Sunday!

Part Three: Question Tuesday (anyone get the reference?)
On Monday, Craig posed an interesting question to all of us:

  • What do you think would help you most in terms of getting work done and motivate you to actually write?

While I think this might be a difficult question to answer, I'll still try.

For me, the difficulty with writing comes from the ideas I have. They are complex, which makes me over-think how to proceed with them. The idea I am working on now is a dystopian story about a man and woman. I have those two characters figured out. I have the challenge they'll face figured out, but all the political and scientific aspects of the story have yet to be decided on, leaving me with a feeling that I shouldn't start writing yet. And it's this way with everything I write. I tend to be a perfectionist with my writing, and I worry about the quality of everything I've typed up. I feel that this story isn't the one to let be mediocre. I want it to be something special...

I don't know if there's a way to get me out of this rut... I guess the only way out is to write. But, like most young college students, there are many distractions. Also, I love procrastinating. I promise to make an effort to write over the summer, and all of my fellow bloggers should see if I'm actually trying. I'd appreciate being held accountable for what I've just said. Keeping a promise is always good motivation, especially when many people have seen/heard/read you make that promise.

Part Four: Conclusion
Once again, I am so happy to be a part of An Abundance of Blogging. Having read everyone's posts, I can tell that I'm working with some awesome people nerdfighters that I'm sure to get along with. I hope my sun burnt ramblings weren't annoying...

DFTBA y'all!

Hello, Nerdites! It is week two of An Abundance of Blogging!

We do all seem to be writers looking to improve our self don't we? We all seem to be facing the same problem: We can't professionally procrastinate! But we need to be able to do both wright well and procrastinate. Therefore I present a question to my fellow bloggers for the week: What do you think would help you most in terms of getting work done and motivate you to actually write? Other than when you have a deadline. For me I am not quite sure myself. I once heard that you should take away all distractions. That's all well and good..... UNLESS YOU ARE LIKE ME! I need google to be able to spell a lot of words. This blog post right now for instance there have already been 5 words that where spelled incorrectly. And at one unfortunate time in my life I felt as if the only way I could write was when I was in an "altered state" (brownie points to anyone who recognizes that movie title). I know that is not true though. It is true that I would do more writing in an altered state but I wasn't GOOD at writing. In fact the level of horse crap I turned up while writing was astronomical.

I would be amazed at my genius and pass out. And when I woke up I would see a paper and pen beside me and read....... Nothing. Because I couldn't write. There where far more lines connecting to each other than what should be aloud even if I had been writing in cursive. Thankfully I am out of that place in my life now but I am not sure how to get myself to type those words out that have been stewing in my head for a very long time. I will try to come up with an answer for my own question by next Monday.

With that said I pass the torch to you, Shelby.
Best wishes and DFTBA
Craig TLoM.

Another day..another blogger.

Hello everyone,

I'm Nicole. I was invited to write in this collab-blog by the brilliant mastermind, Linnea, who also happens to be one of my best friend's at the school we go to. So without further ado, here we go.

-I'm currently a sophomore in college working on a Bachelor's in Public Relations with a minor in Sociology, and so far I really love it.

-I've actually been blogging myself for roughly five years now and I chronicle everything from random daily things in my life that have excited me, to having cancer and experiencing chemotherapy for four months, to losing a parent.

I'm not sure what else to put here since I'm writing this on my lunch break and I don't have a lot of time left. See everyone next Thursday, and have a lovely weekend!

Hey y'all, it's the Tuesday Writer!

I'm that girl who'll be writing on Tuesdays, otherwise known as Shelby W.

I'm not one of those girls who likes to talk about herself, and I often feel weird when I have to describe/introduce myself to other people or on a profile. So, since this is that sort of situation, I feel kinda weird...  Oh well!

To start....

I'm an aspiring author (seems to be a trend on this blog!). While I've written lots of things, I've yet to finish a novel. It's no lie when authors say writing novels is hard work. It definitely is. All of my manuscripts have been left untouched for many reasons: plots didn't work, got stuck (that dreadful writer's block!), the idea needed to be expanded...etc. I think I need to work on this... just a tad.

My life is nothing out of the ordinary. I'm engaged to an awesome guy. I'm a college student majoring in English. I like to read. I'm a Doctor Who and Game of Thrones (among other shows)  junkie. The only interesting thing about me is that I'm a trap shooter (shotguns and flying clay targets). Really though, I'm quite a boring person. But I guess that's not exactly a bad thing. Sometimes, the most satisfying thing is living a normal life and being happy it's normal...

From me, I suppose you can expect a whole bunch of random rants about my inability to write, posts about TV shows and other entertainment (reviews galore!), and posts about everyday life. I can't wait to see what the other writers bring to this blog, and I hope that it can be enjoyable for us to write and for you to read, whoever you might be.

I think that's all that needs to be said. I don't wanna seem self-absorbed or anything (not that I am... I'm totally not!).
